KIDS’ MINISTRY
Our hope is that every child who visits our church will feel known, loved, and safe while learning about Jesus Christ and will one day experience the joy that comes from knowing Him. Our classes and events for our kindergarten - fifth graders are designed with this hope in mind.
At First Baptist, we desire to partner with families to influence and teach the Bible and share the gospel of Jesus Christ in a safe, secure, and engaging way.
SUNDAYS
Sunday School meets at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings and is grouped based upon grade level. Sunday School is a time of teaching the Bible on an age appropriate level with hands-on activities and discussions centered around Scripture.
Children’s Worship meets during our morning worship service and is offered for kindergarteners thru third grade. Children’s Worship is a time to reinforce the Biblical truths taught in Sunday School with music, teaching, crafts, and life application.
WEDNESDAYS
Awana for 2 year old - 5th grade
6:15 - 7:45 pm (doors open @ 6 pm)
What is AWANA?
The Word AWANA comes from Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim. 2:15). Awana is an incentive-based discipleship program that strongly emphasizes memorizing and understanding scripture. It is fun, engaging, and strengthens not only the child's relationship with the Lord, but the whole family. As Psalms 119:11 says, "I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you." The Bible teaches that studying and memorizing God's Word are the keys to winning the battle against sin. It is my prayer that they discover and store His Word in their hearts to use in their daily walk.
Also, each month we will have a mission emphasizes to teach them about mission and provide opportunities for them to serve their community, nation, and world. "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:19.
Awana's vision and prayer is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love, and serve the Lord.
Puggles:
Puggles is a one-year weekly club for preschoolers prior to joining Cubbies. It will teach them the four Big Truths from the Bible: God Made Everything, God is Great, God Loves Us and We Give Thanks. The Puggles program is design to introduce preschoolers to God and His amazing love. We ask that a parent be on campus for this age group.
Cubbies:
Cubbies is a two-year weekly club for preschoolers during the two years (sometimes three years) prior to Kindergarten. Our purpose is to help your child take their first little steps on a lifelong journey. Scripture instructs Parents to teach their children about God's Word, little by little, day by day. The Cubbies program is designed to help parents and leaders in this critical role.
Each week the parent will help the child learn a verse, and then at club we will reinforce that verse with many activities. As we partner together, we hope to really “cement" that week's truth into our Cubbies minds and hearts.
Sparks and T&T:
Opening ceremonies in sanctuary include: pledges, announcements, and prayer
Handbook Time (Small group): Handbook time consists of individual clubbers reciting the verse(s) they learned at home with their leaders as well as other handbook assignments
Then the leader is satisfied with the clubber's grasp of the material memorized (on the task completed) he or she will sign the handbook, recording the clubber's progress Large Group Time: Council time includes singing, announcements, and a story or lesson that shows how to Bible's teachings apply to everyday life.
Game Time: Game Time is where clubbers learn new games and get to know each other in friendly competition. Please be sure your child has a good pair of tennis shoes so he or she will be ready to go.
FBC PRESCHOOL
SUNDAYS
Sunday School and Childcare is offered on Sunday mornings for children aged birth through four years old. Sunday School begins at 9:00 AM and Childcare begins at 10:30. We offer Sunday School because we believe that it is never too early to begin teaching the love of Jesus Christ. We offer Childcare to create an opportunity for parents to learn and connect with peers through groups and worship, while knowing their child is being cared for. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and age-appropriate environment for preschoolers while introducing them to the love of God. It is our desire that each preschooler feels welcome and loved at First Baptist Church. The nursery and these classrooms are staffed with volunteers coordinated by the Nursery Committee.
